Tatanka is a Sioux word for Buffalo. Tatanka Boutique sells unique and authentic, local and international Indigenous made retail items such as clothing, jewellery, star-blankets, toys, moccasins, books, music, artwork and other specialty gift items with a primary focus on providing locally created First Nations, Métis and Inuit art.
Tatanka Boutique showcases various First Nations, Métis and Inuit artists’ work and incorporates some of the same qualities found in art galleries where each art piece is identified by its designer.
The art procured is made by First Nations, Métis or Inuit artists or other Indigenous peoples from around the world such as the Maori.
The owner, Joely BigEagle-Kequahtooway, is an artist, star-blanket, fashion and baby clothes designer and will be showcasing and selling her own creations at the boutique under her brand name Tatanka Designs.
